I recently took a yoga class from one of my very first students. Such a treat to see your students–and friends–live the life they deserve.
She opened up the class reading from The Desire Map: A Guide to Creating Goals with Soul by Danielle LaPortes. The intent of the reading and the book is to remind us of the things we deserve.
They were things like:
- Clean and free drinking water
- Time off
- To be respected
- To be loved
She then asked us to fill in the rest of our own list.
It was a fitting time for me to hear this message. For those of you who have been following me since I started writing, you know I’m focused on the possibilities that exist in each and every moment–loving myself first and doing it (whatever it is) NOW…
Believing in what YOU deserve is VERY important in achieving what you deserve.
What else do I deserve then?
Here are the things I added to the above list for myself. These are also my desires and wishes for each and every one of you.
- To be happy and healthy
- To be financially free
- To follow your dreams
- To live big
- To be bold and wild
- To know when to say NO and know when to say YES
- To say YES to you
- To love yourself (yes, be F.L.Y.)
- And to take care of yourself first so that you are the best version of YOU possible
You should create your own list. Write it down. Read it often. Believe in it and I can tell you, it will happen for you. You deserve as much as anyone else in the world. You just have to believe that.
