24 Jun Summers Top 5 Favorite Essential Oils
Hot long days by the pool, more out-door activities and more time to…
…R E L A X. (yup, that’s me and my man relaxin’ at the beach!)
How do the oils play a role in your summer screen-play?
Here are my top 5 oils and uses for S U M M E R!
1 – Lavender – this go to oil is great for: cut’s, bruises, sunburns and relaxation.
2 – Melaluca – we all need to make sure we disinfect those pesky scraps; mixed with lemongrass and lavender makes a GREAT bug repellant (see recipe below)
3 – Lemon – add this little gem to your water and instant hydration from hot summer days which can lead to dehydration.
4 – Wild Orange – put a few drops in your diffuser to spruce up your indoor spaces making them smell fresh and light as well as giving you a boost of new energy! (also love this in my water – mid day to boost energy!)
5 – Lemongrass – this oil is sometimes underused (or maybe mis-understood). My favorite use for this oil is to rub it on my joints (with some deep blue or solo) to help sooth my achey joints/muscles after a good hike or extra hard workout.

Bug Spray Recipe:
- Fill spray bottle (I used 8 ounce) 1/2 full with distilled or boiled water
- Add witch hazel to fill almost to the top
- Add 30-50 drops of essential oils to desired scent. The more oils you use, the stronger the spray will be. My personal favorite mix is: Lavender, Melaluca and Lemongrass
